Many dry and tanned animal
skins and a large variety of horns and skulls work well in a variety of settings
and scenes. For example; if your film requires bands of poachers or hunters we
can supply them with original hand props.
"PROPS to the STARS" also works closely with several armourers who stock
numerous ancient, old and contempory guns and ammunition.
Grass mats, head-baskets and a quantity of different reed-woven containers
stacked with market produce are ideal for the re-creation of sprawling daily,
African market life.
A magical selection of
roots and herbs and wooden platters and goblets of finely chopped traditional
medicines and other witch-doctor and "sangoma" type products (once again, often
collected at source) are also part of our Afri-Prop collection. A large
selection of contempory and antique tools and large old wooden chests, toolboxes
and various types of work belts make up their own section in the warehouse.
Be it a Victorian-era chimney sweeps brushes, the Grim Reapers scythe, a
specific newspaper or book, a generic and copy-right free drinks label or
perhaps an Ethiopian warriors deadly "afar" scimitar, we guarantee you that if
we don't have it, we will find it and make it for you.

The warehouse consists of
3000 mē of indoor and outdoor floor space. Apart from being a great storage depot
and office, it is very well situated and designed for servicing and storing
props for filming in and around Cape Town.
We are very proud of our
ever-growing collection of exclusive hand props and can confidentially assure any
Production Designer or Producer that we can supply superb props for the many
different types of films being made in Southern Africa.
Rather than becoming a storage facility and display centre for vast amounts of
"props dressing, tables, furniture, chairs" etc, the "PROPS to the STARS"
warehouse prides itself on their superb and mostly original, hand props.
Apart from old tribal knives and swords from many parts of Southern Africa, we
also stock fighting sticks, bows and arrows, spears and shields, water bags
gourds and calabashes and a
large assortment of tribal regalia. |
